We are seeking Open Pit Project Mine Geologists for the Kal East Gold Operation, who will be integral to setting up the Geology Team for success. Help set up the Kalgoorlie project for success.
The position is FIFO from Perth or residential from Kalgoorlie with a negotiable roster. Lakewood is ~6km from Kalgoorlie, with our mining operations located within a 40km radius of the centralised processing facility.
About the Opportunity
Working closely with the Senior, the Project Mine Geologist is responsible for facilitating grade control practices and processes that optimise ore recovery in an open pit environment.
About You
Tertiary qualification in Geology or equivalent.
Strong experience as a geologist within an open pit gold mining operation.
Ability to mentor junior mine geologists and manage a small team.
Experience with mining software that includes 3D modelling as required for day-to-day, near-term mine planning and geology software packages such as Deswik, Datamine, Leapfrog, and Acquire.
Strong awareness and understanding of risk management, health, safety, and environmental systems and legislative and statutory requirements within the mining environment.
Excellent report writing and presentation skills.
Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
