About the role
Illumident Mount Gambier is seeking a talented and experienced Dental Assistant to join our dynamic team in Mount Gambier, SA. This is a full-time position over 4 days per week, offering the opportunity to play a pivotal role in supporting our dental practice's clinical operations and enhancing the patient experience.
What you'll be doing
* Assisting dentists and oral health practitioners during procedures by anticipating their needs and providing the necessary instruments and materials
* Sterilising and maintaining dental instruments and equipment to ensure a safe and hygienic environment
* Greeting patients, managing patient flow, and ensuring a smooth and efficient patient experience
* Maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records, including charting and documentation
* Coordinating the clinical schedule and supporting the dental team
* Providing exceptional customer service and addressing patient inquiries and concerns
* Participating in team meetings and contributing to the continuous improvement of clinical processes
What we're looking for
* Minimum Certificate 3 (or equivalent) in Dental Assisting (Cert 4 or equivalent is preferred)
* Minimum 5 years of experience as a Dental Assistant
* Experience in working with dental implants and/or dental sedation
* Experience in clear aligner orthodontics
* Experience in taking intraoral and extraoral digital x-rays
* Experience in a hospital setting
* Demonstrated proficiency in chairside assisting, instrument sterilisation, and patient record management
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with patients and the dental team
* Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities to manage competing priorities and maintain a smooth workflow
* Commitment to providing high-quality patient care and a passion for the dental profession
* Flexibility to work within a team and adapt to the changing needs of the practice
