Job Description:We are currently seeking an experienced Coal Handling & Preparation Plant (CHPP) Maintenance Superintendent to lead the maintenance team in carrying out all aspects of mechanical and electrical maintenance of our Coal Handling & Preparation Plant at our Dawson Mine in Moura, QLD.Working within the maintenance area, you will provide supervision, oversight and a safe working environment to the on-site maintenance teams. You will ensure planned maintenance and servicing of site equipment is carried out efficiently and safely following the equipment tactics / strategies with your dedicated planning and maintenance crews, in addition you will also be required to manage breakdown events and liaise with your Production counter parts to ensure the safe continued operation of the CHPP.Your success in this role will come from a combination of technical knowledge, strong work management and people management skills to meet the objective of continuing the safety culture of the workforce, maximising plant reliability and standard of service to your customers.Responsibilities included but not limited to:Manage the performance and availability of the CHPP to achieve safety, operational and financial company objectives;Responsible for the Maintenance work stream while ensuring the team takes responsibility for their tasks and work management requirements.Provides clarity and direction that supports the effective performance of the maintenance department in terms of timing, budget and delivery options.Take the lead on improving reliability and equipment standards via your dedicated reliability engineer based on site.Attend daily site meetings to provide operational availability and performance of all CHPP equipment, upcoming planned events and collaborate closely with the production department.Manage, coach and mentor supervisors, maintenance crew personnel and your team of planners and engineers.Relevant Experience / Skills & Knowledge:Extensive experience working as a Maintenance Superintendent within an Open Cut mining environment and experience with Coal Handling and Preparation plants.Demonstrated knowledge and proven experience in mechanical and electrical maintenance.Demonstrated team management and leadership ability and experience.Strong Health & Safety knowledge and adherence.Good understanding of business and finance goals in conjunction with overall project requirements.Demonstrated critical thinking and problem solving skills.Excellent communication, organisational and planning skills.Good mechanical and/or electrical aptitude.Strong work management skills.Demonstrated capability in a progressive leadership role - moving beyond a compliance focus to leadership, effective safety systems and personal behaviors.Strong understanding and capability in safety culture and leadership concepts, practical application of risk assessment; hazard identification and controls; and incident management and investigation. Qualifications:Mechanical or Electrical Degree OR an associate Diploma OR an Australian Recognised Mechanical OR Electrical Trade Certificate.
