We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Inventory Controller within the Logistics business of Unipart Group Australia, located in Tullamarine, Melbourne.
The inventory Controller will support the development and implementation of storage best practices in our warehouse holding aftermarket automotive parts.
The Inventory Controller will work closely with the Customer Service and Operations team on a daily basis.
Role Responsibilities:
Assist in the planning, analysis and coordination of physical spaces across Unipart's
Melbourne warehouses.
● Assist in ensuring that warehouse space is used to its maximum potential, and that best
practice storage solutions are in place.
● Maintain inventory records and support the improvement of all aspects of stock integrity.
● Support continuous improvement and operational excellence by applying The Unipart Way
principles, tools and techniques to operations.
● Use SAP to monitor and report on data in line with operational requirements.
● Monitor and support the implementation of tools and techniques to deliver cost and quality
benefits.
● Reduce stock liability by policing the inbound, fulfilment and returns stock movements
● Ensure cost-effective and timely availability of inventory items and requested parts.
● Conduct stock control and stock takes across multiple sites as requested.
● Ensure compliance with business processes – including quality and OH&S systems.
● Assist in identifying risks within inventory & the inventory management systems.
● Review inventory profiles to identify slow-moving and obsolete stocks (SLOBs) to support the management and reduction of write-offs
To be successful in the role, you will need:
* 2-3 years of experience in a similar role within the logistics and supply chain industry is an advantage.
* Qualifications in Supply Chain or Logistics are preferred, or relevant industry experience
* Ability to build and maintain relationships internally/externally
* IT skills, including experience with using MS Office or Google products and SAP, are essential.
* Good verbal and written communication skills, incorporating MS Office
* Ability to complete the physical requirements of the role.
* Current LO licence is preferable.
* Experience in completing stock movements is preferred.
* Adherence to Unipart Group Australia's Policies and Procedures.
