Hatch seeks a Graduate Solicitor / Policy Officer to join the Maliyan Program within the Department of Communities and Justice. This role is open to Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

This challenging and rewarding opportunity provides a preview to the NSW Government, where you can make a difference from within. You will work in various roles throughout the Law Reform and Legal Services (LRLS) Division over 24 months.

The Maliyan Program offers a supportive and flexible working environment for Legal Graduates to commence their careers.


Key Responsibilities

* Undertake legal activities in relevant areas of law or policy to contribute to efficient and effective legal support services and policy reform for the Law Reform and Legal Division.

* Provide legal advice and conduct policy research.

* Draft legal documents.

Key strengths include legal research and analysis, stakeholder engagement, drafting legal documents, knowledge of Australian law, experience in policy development, and ability to work in a team.
