The Department of Water and Environmental Regulation (DWER) is seeking an experienced and strategic leader to join our Assurance Directorate as the Manager Assurance Services.
In this senior role, you will lead a diverse and high-performing branch responsible for delivering key strategic, policy, governance, and program functions that support effective and consistent regulation across the directorate. This includes oversight of regulatory fees, Freedom of Information coordination, training and workforce support, governance, risk and audit, assurance reform, program delivery, legislation and policy, and asset and budget tracking.
Your leadership will help embed risk-based regulatory practices, strengthen governance maturity, and drive continuous improvement to support better environmental outcomes for Western Australia.

Role requirements
The role requires substantial experience leading assurance, governance and regulatory support functions, with the ability to provide high level, evidence-based advice and resolve complex issues using risk-based decision making.
Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, analytical and problem-solving skills are essential, along with proven leadership in building capability and a high performing, values driven culture.
Strong knowledge of relevant public sector frameworks, legislation and industrial instruments is required, and experience delivering service improvements, reforms or strategic initiatives is essential.
Project management and interagency coordination experience is desirable.
