The Opportunity
We are looking for a WHS & Training Partner to support our SA and Tasmanian operational leaders in creating safe, capable, high-performing workplaces. This role is ideal for a practical safety professional who enjoys being close to the frontline, building leadership capability, and delivering meaningful training that improves both compliance and performance.
About the role
Reporting to the National WHS Manager, the WHS & Training Partner (SA/Tas) will work closely with managers and site leaders to strengthen safety systems, verify critical risk controls, deliver operational training, support incident investigations, and uplift frontline leadership capability. The role supports varied operational environments and plays an important part in embedding consistent safety standards across the business.
Key responsibilities
In this role, you will:
* Partner with managers and supervisors to support WHS compliance and strengthen safety leadership
* Deliver WHS and operational training aligned to site risks and operational needs
* Monitor and verify critical risk controls, including areas such as LOTO, machine guarding, working at heights and mobile plant
* Support incident investigations and structured root cause analysis, ensuring corrective actions address underlying causes
* Drive implementation and sustainment of WHS policies, procedures and critical risk standards
* Coach frontline leaders to build confidence in setting expectations and addressing unsafe behaviours
* Identify capability gaps and implement practical training uplift plans
* Monitor mandatory training, licences and competency requirements to ensure compliance
* Support rollout of the QPS Framework (Quality, Productivity & Safety) across sites
* Analyse safety data, identify recurring themes, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
* Promote a positive safety culture through toolbox talks, safety awareness activities and practical engagement with teams.
About you
To be successful, you will bring:
* Demonstrated WHS experience in manufacturing, industrial or operational environments
* Experience delivering WHS and operational training and supporting competency frameworks
* Practical knowledge of high-risk controls, including LOTO, guarding and mobile plant
* Experience supporting or leading incident investigations
* Working knowledge of Australian WHS legislation
* Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with frontline teams and leaders across all levels
* Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
* A proactive, hands-on approach with a strong commitment to safe work practices
* A preparedness for regular travel to Tasmania
Qualifications
You will ideally hold:
* Certificate IV in WHS or equivalent experience
Highly regarded:
* Training & Assessment qualification (TAE)
* ICAM or equivalent investigation training
* Experience in multi-site operational environments.
