This role plays a vital part in advancing the Galleries' educational and public engagement objectives by fostering partnerships with schools to implement targeted strategies and programs.
* The position involves coordinating artists, trainees, and volunteers to support public programs and educational activities that align with the Galleries' mission and enhance its community presence.
* Working collaboratively within the Education and Programs team, the Officer helps plan and deliver initiatives across gallery venues and through outreach in schools, community organisations, and public events.
The ideal candidate will possess:
* Relevant tertiary qualifications (Art History, Museum Studies or other relevant arts-related field) and/or substantial experience within an art gallery or museum environment in a similar capacity.
* A valid Queensland driver's licence.
* A current Queensland Working with Children and Young People Blue Card.
* Good knowledge of the visual arts, particularly as it relates to programs and educational activities within a regional gallery.
* A high level ability and enthusiasm to learn and create innovative workshops that offer quality customer experiences.
* The ability to coordinate complex projects and deliver education and public programming initiatives.
* Highly developed visual communication skills with a strong focus on audience development.
* Demonstrated ability to plan, develop and implement tasks towards deadlines either working independently or as part of a team.
* Proficiency in a range of computing skills including design software and Microsoft office.
