About the Role
An academic sessional makes a substantial contribution to the teaching program, particularly at the undergraduate level.
The position requires preparation and coordination of tutorials and workshops, consultation with students, assessment marking and attendance at meetings as required by the Course Coordinator/Program Coordinator.
The primary purpose of an academic sessional is to successfully run and manage their assigned tutorials or workshops within the discipline area.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Conduct lectures/theoretical tutorials and/or workshops in consultation with the Discipline Lead, including preparing a brief lesson plan in line with the weekly learning objectives and facilitating informed group discussions relating to the content.
2. Consultation with students in relation to readings, weekly topics, and assessment.
3. Marking and providing feedback relating to assessment activities as set out by the Course Coordinator/Program Coordinator.
4. Attendance at meetings as required by the Course Coordinator/Program Coordinator.
5. Manage short-term extension requests in line with University policy.
6. Other duties as identified by the line manager or the National Deputy Head of School.
7. Comply with policies and procedures in all aspects of their work and conduct.
