We are seeking an accomplished Asset Management Specialist to lead our efforts in strategic asset management and facilities operations. This role will play a key part in ensuring the safety, functionality, and efficiency of our facilities while aligning asset management strategies with our broader business objectives.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and optimising the management of physical assets and facilities critical to our operations. Key areas of responsibility include:

Strategic Asset Management

- Develop and execute a comprehensive asset management strategy that supports the organisation's long-term goals

- Review the Asset Management Policy and Asset Management Framework as required, develop and maintain an Asset Management Plan in line with SRA's strategy and business requirements.

- Oversee utilisation and continuous improvement of asset maintenance system, including developing standard operating procedures.

- Manage the Asset Register, including conducting an annual stocktake, asset movements and disposal.

- Conduct regular evaluations of assets to assess their condition, efficiency, and compliance with regulations.

- Plan and execute asset replacement, upgrades, and disposals in line with organisational policies.

- Identify opportunities for asset optimisation, cost reduction, and enhanced operational efficiency.

- Administration of SRA's insurance portfolio.

Facilities Management and Operations

- Lead all aspects of facility operations, ensuring that our physical spaces are safe, well-maintained, and equipped to support business activities. Implement best practices for facility maintenance and security.

- Work with, and through local Business Support Officers to ensure that all facilities comply with relevant regulations, codes, and safety standards.

- Manage relationships with vendors, contractors, and service providers to secure high-quality services and competitive pricing. Negotiate contracts and monitor service level agreements.

- Oversight and reporting of major capital projects where required (e.g. laboratories, station refurbishments, construction and/or other significant projects)

- Manage the Capital Expenditure process (prioritise and finalise business needs, source quotes, warranties, T&C, compliance to safety codes, manuals, import method, delivery, maintenance, purchase orders, invoices, receipt, procurement contracts)

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, finance, and senior leadership, to align asset and facility management strategies with broader organisational objectives.

- Work with the Head of Internal Audit, & Risk and the Manager - Safety on planning and task management pertaining to business continuity and emergency management connected to assets and facilities.

- Develop and manage budgets for asset and facility-related expenses. Monitor expenditures, identify cost-saving opportunities, and make data-driven decisions to optimise resource allocation.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

Essential

* Proven asset management, project management, and budgeting experience in a similar context across multiple sites/properties.
* Previous experience in producing high quality reporting for Executives and Board
* Strong leadership, adaptability and interpersonal skills - able to successfully navigate and embrace changes in strategic and operational priorities affecting the role and Team.
* Ability to work independently and drive process improvements.
* Excellent interpersonal skills and team behaviour, with the ability to ensure two-way communication when consulting and communicating with management and staff.
* A current manual driver's licence is required to drive SRA vehicles
* Project Management qualifications, plus considerable relevant experience.
* Advanced Contract management experience.
* Tertiary Property/Asset management qualifications relevant to the role.
* Financial management and budgeting expertise.
* Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations.

Desirable

* Proficiency with asset management software packages
* Ability to translate SRA strategic priorities into actionable programs of work to support operations.
* People management qualifications plus experience.

This is a permanent role and some intra- and inter-state travel may be required. Applicants must have the right to work in Australia in order to apply.
