Salary: $80,000 - $90,000
Skills and Experience:
· The candidate must have at least 1 year of relevant experience (Mandatory)
· Strong communication and customer service skills.
· Dependable and punctual with a strong commitment to safety and quality.
· Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
· Physically fit and capable of performing manual tasks in a construction environment.
· Problem-solving skills to handle unexpected challenges, such as road or site access issues.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Operate heavy vehicles to deliver essential goods, including heavy parcels and general freight, to industrial areas, shopping centres, and residential locations.
* Pick up consignments from industrial and residential areas and transport them to the depot for sorting and further delivery, including priority and road express services.
* Manoeuvre vehicles into position for safe loading and unloading at warehouses, depots, and delivery sites.
* Load and unload vehicles using lifting and tipping devices, ensuring correct handling of heavy or fragile items.
* Observe all workplace health and safety requirements when loading, unloading, and operating vehicles.
* Conduct regular quality and safety checks of vehicles to ensure they are roadworthy and meet operational standards.
* Estimate weights to comply with load limitations and ensure safe distribution of weight across the vehicle.
* Ensure goods are stowed and securely covered to prevent movement, loss, or damage during transit.
* Verify loading and delivery documentation, check the condition of goods, and obtain signatures or certification of deliveries.
* Plan and follow efficient delivery routes to meet scheduled delivery times and customer service requirements.
* Maintain delivery records, vehicle logs, and paperwork in accordance with company and regulatory requirements.
