STEM Program Support Officer
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the delivery of innovative youth-focused programs and services that inspire positive outcomes for our community's young people.
The role involves working collaboratively with internal teams and external partners to design and implement engaging STEM programs tailored to the needs and interests of Playford's youth.
You will engage and empower staff, youth leaders, and volunteers to contribute to and expand the reach of youth programs, particularly in digital skills and STEM education. Your role will involve delivering a high standard of customer experience by ensuring that all young people and community members receive professional, friendly, and inclusive service.
Key responsibilities include:
* Program Development: Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to design and implement engaging STEM programs.
* Staff & Volunteer Engagement: Actively engage and empower staff, youth leaders, and volunteers to contribute to and expand the reach of youth programs.
* Service Delivery: Deliver a high standard of customer experience by ensuring that all young people and community members receive professional, friendly, and inclusive service.
* Resource Assistance: Assist youth in accessing available resources, services, and technology confidently and effectively.
* Community Engagement: Champion and promote City of Playford's youth services, programs, and events within the community and across stakeholder networks.
* Partnership Development: Develop and maintain strong internal and external partnerships to broaden the scope and impact of youth programs.
* Operational Support: Assist with administrative and operational tasks to support the effective delivery of youth services.
We are looking for someone with:
* A strong understanding of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Maths) and the ability to make it fun and relevant for young people.
* Confidence using digital tools and a willingness to explore new tech that inspires learning.
* Experience working with young people in schools, libraries, or community settings.
* A genuine interest in building positive connections with schools, families, and local services.
* Great people skills and the ability to communicate clearly with young people from all walks of life.
