About the role:
Step into a dynamic leadership role at Rockhampton Hospital, where you'll drive the planning, delivery, and continuous improvement of key administrative services. As part of the Administration and Development Unit, you'll lead, coach, and mentor administration officers to ensure high-quality, patient-focused service delivery.
This role oversees coordination, supervision, and recruitment across Switchboard Services, Hospital Reception, Administrative Ward Staff, Directors' Secretaries, and the Administration Relief and Casual Pools. You'll also manage staff rostering within budget and establishment guidelines, while fostering a culture of efficiency, innovation, and cost-effective practices.
Working collaboratively, Senior Administration Officers share portfolios and maintain knowledge across all unit functions, ensuring balanced workloads and seamless support across services. This is an exciting opportunity to influence service delivery, strengthen team capability, and champion smarter ways of working.
About you:
* While not mandatory, a relevant Cert IV, Diploma or Degree in Business Administration, Health Administration, Health Management, or similar, would be well regarded.
* Ability to build relationships and liaise effectively in a multidisciplinary environment with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders using highly developed negotiation, consultative, conflict resolution, interpersonal and communication skills.
* Demonstrated ability to contribute to continuous improvement, innovation and adoption of best practice standards and procedures.
* Advanced competency in using Microsoft Office applications, proprietary software, and internet applications.
* Proven ability to lead an administrative team within a multidisciplinary environment, including providing professional supervision, development, mentoring and guidance to administrative support staff.
What we offer:
Total monthly remuneration value of up to $9,800 p.m. is comprised of:
* An hourly rate between $47.18 - $51.98 p.h.
* 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
