Project Manager Role Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the delivery of road, bridge or traffic infrastructure and/or maintenance projects across NSW for a leading government agency.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project management, with experience in managing complex infrastructure projects from concept to completion. You will be responsible for developing and delivering project plans, budgets and schedules, as well as overseeing the work of a direct control workforce to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
You will also be required to manage the investigation and design process by developing project briefs and cost estimates, procuring and overseeing service providers, monitoring and reviewing ongoing work programs. In addition, you will prepare contract documents for bridge and road projects, including technical specifications to engage, administer and deliver contract works and ensure efficient project delivery.
A key requirement for this role is the ability to implement effective cost management systems to ensure efficient financial management of projects. The successful candidate will have a four-year engineering degree from an Australian University or equivalent overseas qualifications, as well as knowledge of the technical aspects of materials, equipment and techniques used in road, bridge and traffic infrastructure construction and maintenance.
In terms of skills and qualifications, the ideal candidate will have experience in the preparation of competitive and accurate estimates, job programs, project delivery briefs and WHS management plans. You will also need to have experience managing a direct control workforce to successfully undertake construction and maintenance projects, as well as knowledge of tenders and contract management requirements.
This is a short-term contract role with possible extension. You will need to be based in NSW currently and ready to start immediately.
