About The Role

We are excited to offer a unique opportunity to join the Department of the Environment, Tourism, Science and Innovation (DETSI) as the Manager, Delivery and Engagement (AO8). This newly created role is pivotal in ensuring the efficient delivery of the division's work program. Based in Brisbane, you will work closely with senior leaders and stakeholders to embed disciplined governance, planning, and reporting frameworks that support informed decision‐making and accountability. As the Manager, Delivery and Engagement, you will deliver robust performance and reporting frameworks, develop and implement effective stakeholder engagement plans, and ensure the division's initiatives are strategically aligned, prioritised, and appropriately resourced. Your leadership will play a critical role in enhancing trust, alignment, and effectiveness across the division and with external partners.

Key Responsibilities

* Manage and implement a divisional portfolio management framework, ensuring initiatives are aligned with organisational priorities and appropriately resourced.
* Establish and continuously improve integrated systems, processes, and governance to support disciplined planning, delivery, and oversight of the division's work program.
* Lead the division's contribution to corporate governance, planning, and reporting, ensuring compliance with departmental and whole‐of‐government requirements.
* Deliver timely, accurate, and data‐driven insights through robust performance and reporting frameworks to inform decision‐making by the Deputy Director‐General and Senior Leadership Team.
* Develop and lead effective stakeholder engagement plans that foster open, transparent, and trusting relationships with key partners, industry, and government agencies.
* Collaborate with the department's Communication and Public Engagement Branch to ensure consistency in stakeholder engagement strategies.
* Coordinate divisional governance forums, leadership events, and communication channels to reinforce priorities and enable alignment.
* Contribute to a workplace culture that values equity, diversity, respect, and inclusion.

* Strong program management skills, including the ability to coordinate complex work programs and align them with strategic objectives.
* High‐level analytical and organisational skills to provide actionable insights and meet deadlines.
* Exceptional communication, liaison, and negotiation skills to engage with senior leaders, internal stakeholders, and external partners.
* A proven ability to build and maintain trusted relationships with stakeholders across government, industry, and the community.
* A commitment to continuous improvement, innovation, and fostering a culture of equity, diversity, and inclusion.
