About the Role
Level B (Lecturer) and Level C (Senior Lecturer) – fixed term 2 years convertible tenure track, full time (35 hours). Salary: Level B $127k–$150k, Level C $155k–$178k, plus 17 % superannuation and annual leave loading.
International visa sponsorship is available for the right candidate.
Level B Responsibilities
* Develop and deliver teaching in statistics and research methods for undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
* Assess student learning achievements, provide feedback, and support students in postgraduate and undergraduate courses in accordance with UNSW policy.
* Design learning activities, resources, and assessment using suitable approaches and learning environments.
* Initiate experimental approaches to teaching and learning statistics and research methods with senior academics.
* Support learning progression through individual and cohort‐level activities to achieve positive learning and employability outcomes.
* Manage course administration as Course Authority, including academic quality assurance.
* Maintain professional development in pedagogy, disciplinary knowledge, and accreditation requirements.
* Participate in school meetings and seminars; serve on committees as required.
* Engage in individual and/or collaborative research in psychology consistent with disciplinary practice.
* Create scholarly impact recognisable by peers.
* Conduct research under limited supervision, independently or as part of a team, and design research projects.
* Contribute to competitive funding applications as co‐investigator or chief investigator under senior guidance.
* Mentor students and colleagues; supervise HDRs.
* Demonstrate alignment with UNSW Code of Conduct and Values.
* Cooperate with health and safety policies and procedures.
Level C Responsibilities (in addition to Level B)
* Apply a well‐defined and critically reflective teaching philosophy in statistics and research methods.
* Maintain and develop links within the discipline industry and profession.
* Collaborate to identify and apply for internal education funding.
* Undertake independent research with significant impact; establish a nationally recognised research track record.
* Develop research groups in specialised expertise.
* Attract peer recognition and establish national research networks.
* Secure research income from national competitive grants and research end‐users.
Selection Criteria – Level B
* PhD in a related discipline.
* Commitment to staying up‐to‐date with discipline knowledge.
* Experience in teaching, learning design, and delivery in statistics and research methods at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level.
* Experience with educational technologies and online delivery.
* Evidence of teaching effectiveness and passion for educational excellence.
* Knowledge of or experience with industry work‐integrated learning (desirable).
* Demonstrated support for students from diverse backgrounds and commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
* Track record in high‐quality, high‐impact research and research leadership.
* Involvement with the profession and/or industry.
* High‐level communication and networking abilities.
* Team collaboration and effective relationship building.
* Strong interpersonal and organisational skills.
* Understanding of UNSW aims, objectives, and values and relevant policies and guidelines.
* Knowledge of health and safety responsibilities and commitment to training.
Selection Criteria – Level C (additional)
* Demonstrated success in curriculum development and improvement.
* Experience with industry or work‐integrated learning.
* Experience recruiting and supervising high‐calibre students.
* Ability to interact with profession and attract funding for learning and teaching initiatives.
