We are seeking a motivated and proactive Accountant to join our Finance team based in Brisbane. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, takes ownership of their work, and is confident managing key monthly and statutory processes.
General tasks and duties include:
* Complete assigned monthly reconciliations and review reconciliations prepared by others to ensure accurate month‐end reporting
* Prepare monthly project cost accruals and all non‐SAP inventory postings (fuels, lubes, GET, spare parts).
* Prepare monthly BAS/GST returns, including Fuel Tax Credits, and assess subcontractor Payroll Tax.
* Manage accounting for light vehicles, plant fixed charges, and the work order settlement process.
* Support annual processes including the FBT return and tax‐related depreciation reviews.
* Manage capital expenditure in SAP, including approvals, reporting, forecasting, and depreciation.
* Prepare monthly lease accounting journals and reconcile lease software to SAP.
* Maintain and improve general ledger accuracy, document processes, provide accounting support to admin staff, and assist with other tasks as required.
Personal attributes and experience:
* Degree in Finance (or equivalent)
* CPA/CA qualified, or currently studying towards
* Previous accounting experience in a project-based business.
* Advanced Excel and ERP system skills (SAP preferred)
* Strong analytical, organisational, and communication skills
* Ability to work independently while building strong relationships with site managers and colleagues.
