Australian Naval Infrastructure (ANI) plays a critical role in supporting Australia's naval shipbuilding enterprise and managing nationally significant defence infrastructure. Based in Adelaide, ANI is responsible for delivering and managing infrastructure that supports the long term development of Australia's naval capability. This is an opportunity to join a professional finance team within an organisation contributing to nationally significant projects.
Role Overview
Reporting to the Senior Financial Analyst, the Finance Analyst will support the CFO and finance leadership team across financial reporting, analysis and key accounting functions. The role will contribute to month end reporting, financial analysis and technical accounting related to large scale infrastructure assets. A key focus will be fixed asset financial management, ensuring the accurate maintenance and reporting of ANI's infrastructure asset base.
The successful candidate will play an important role in maintaining strong financial processes, supporting accurate reporting and contributing to the effective management of significant infrastructure assets.
About the Person
You will be a technically strong accounting professional who enjoys working with financial data and contributing to high quality reporting. You will bring strong attention to detail, the ability to analyse and interpret financial information and a proactive approach to supporting the finance team. You will also be comfortable working independently and taking ownership of your work within a supportive finance team. Experience gained within Big 4 or mid tier firms will be highly regarded.
Key Responsibilities
Support month end processes and general ledger close
Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and support financial reporting
Perform fixed asset financial management including maintenance of asset registers, reconciliations, commissioning, valuations, impairment and disposals
Assist with monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting
Provide financial analysis and insights to support decision making
Support financial systems and processes including TechnologyOne
Liaise with auditors and external stakeholders where required
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
Tertiary qualifications in accounting, finance or commerce
CA or CPA qualified or currently studying
Australian citizenship and the ability to obtain a baseline security clearance
Approximately five to six years experience in a finance or accounting role, with some flexibility for high performing candidates
Strong experience supporting month end reporting and reconciliations
Advanced Excel and strong analytical capability
Experience working with financial systems, ideally TechnologyOne
Post qualification experience within professional services, infrastructure or other asset intensive industries will be highly regarded
