Maintenance Electrician Role
As a skilled maintenance electrician, you will play a vital role in maintaining and improving high-speed production equipment in the packaging industry.
Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver daily preventative and breakdown maintenance across fixed plant equipment to ensure safe and efficient operations, adhering to quality and safety standards.
* Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests, troubleshoot electrical faults, and minimize production downtime by applying problem-solving skills and expertise.
* Conduct regular inspections and condition monitoring to identify potential equipment failures, initiate corrective actions, and optimize machine performance.
* Collaborate with production teams to reduce waste, support continuous improvement initiatives, and contribute to process optimization.
* Read, interpret, and produce electrical schematics to support fault diagnosis and system upgrades, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
* Maintain accurate documentation of completed work, pending tasks, and equipment status, promoting transparency and accountability.
* Assist in investigating equipment-related non-conformances, contribute to root cause analysis, and implement corrective measures.
* Ensure all maintenance activities comply with relevant regulations, standards, and company policies, prioritizing employee safety and well-being.
* Return machines to production in a clean, safe, and operational condition, removing all tools and materials from the area, maintaining a tidy workspace.
* Support planning and scheduling of maintenance tasks, demonstrating initiative-taking approach to asset care, and contributing to overall efficiency.
Requirements:
* Minimum 5 years' experience in maintenance within a manufacturing environment, with a strong track record of delivering results.
* Current 'A' Class Electrical Licence, or equivalent, with a deep understanding of electrical principles and practices.
* Familiarity with HACCP and WHS principles, ensuring a safe working environment and adherence to regulatory requirements.
* Strong knowledge of maintenance planning techniques, including predictive and preventive maintenance strategies.
* Ability to read and produce electrical schematics, with proficiency in drawing and interpreting technical diagrams.
* Instrumentation training and experience with automated packing systems (robotics, palletisers) highly desirable, but not essential.
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
