About the Position
We have an exciting opportunity for a Planning and Performance Analyst to join our Planning, Performance and Risk team on a permanent full-time basis. In this role, you will play a key part in supporting the City's Integrated Planning and Reporting Framework – a critical function that connects strategic vision with real-world action. You will assist in the annual Council-led Business Planning and Budgeting process, coordinate corporate reporting, and develop and maintain performance databases, dashboards, and reports that tell the story of how we're progressing. You'll also help shape key performance indicators and contribute to the development of strategic documents like the Strategic Community Plan, Corporate Business Plan and Annual Report. Additionally, you will provide strategic and expert analysis, reporting, and advice to support the delivery of the City's strategic direction. This role offers a unique opportunity to work across the entire organisation, gaining insight into the many departments and services that make local government run. Your work will directly support transparency and accountability, helping communicate our plans and progress to the community. You'll also be involved in data analysis and enhancing reporting systems through tools like SharePoint and the Power Platform suite.
About You
As a Planning and Performance Analyst, you will collaborate with Council, Executive Leadership, managers and staff to support strategic planning, ensure alignment with the Integrated Planning and Reporting Framework, and help communicate progress through performance reporting. This role requires a highly organised and proactive professional who can effectively manage competing priorities in a fast-paced and politically sensitive environment. You will have highly developed written communication skills, with experience preparing high-quality reports, strategic documents and briefing materials. You will also bring strong analytical and problem-solving skills, experience in strategic and operational project planning, and the ability to build effective working relationships. A tertiary qualification in a related field is required, along with highly developed Excel skills.
