Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled Senior Mechanical Designer to join our team. As a key member of our design group, you will be responsible for creating detailed mechanical designs and drafting activities to support the integration of new and revised designs into complex systems.
Your primary duties will include performing technically challenging mechanical, structural, and piping system design and drafting tasks that demonstrate knowledge of engineering fundamentals. You will also be responsible for undertaking detail design activities utilizing 3D model information to produce 2D engineering drawings, from components through to installation drawings. Additionally, you will create parts lists and weight impact sheets for all designs, produce quality drawing outputs consistent with established industry standards, and use corporate systems to maintain configuration control of design artefacts.
A successful candidate will possess an Advanced Diploma / Associate Degree of Engineering in a relevant field or equivalent experience. They will have experience in mechanical design and integration of complex systems, including preparation of manufacturing level drawings, as well as proven ability in the use of AutoCAD to produce 2D drawings and Autodesk Inventor 3D. Knowledge of configuration systems and the role of configuration management in the design process is also essential. The ideal candidate will have adaptability to manage multiple design activities concurrently while delivering work on time and within budget. Excellent written and oral communication skills are required, along with a high standard of personal organization and attention to detail.
