About the role
Makers In Common is seeking an experienced Senior Sous Chef transitioning to Head Chef to join our team in our vibrant restaurant located in the heart of Fremantle,
Senior sous chef- to head chef with in 6 months.
This is a full-time position that will see you playing a key role in leading our kitchen operations and developing exceptional dining experiences for our guests.
What you'll be doing
* Oversee the day-to-day running of the kitchen, including menu planning, food preparation, and staff management
* Lead and motivate a team of talented chefs to deliver consistently high-quality dishes
* Develop and implement new menu items, incorporating seasonal and locally sourced ingredients
* Ensure compliance with all food safety and hygiene regulations
* Work collaboratively with the front-of-house team to deliver exceptional customer service
* Monitor and control kitchen expenses to maintain profitability
* Provide training and professional development opportunities for kitchen staff
What we're looking for
* Minimum of 5 years' experience as a Senior Sous Chef or Head Chef in a high-volume, fast-paced restaurant environment
* Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a kitchen team
* Excellent culinary skills, with a deep understanding of food trends, flavour profiles, and presentation
* Demonstrated experience in menu development and cost control
* Thorough knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with front-of-house staff
* Passion for using locally sourced, seasonal ingredients to create exceptional dining experiences
