About the Role
We require experienced industrial Blaster Painters to lead crews in Auckland and Northland. As a key leader in the crew reporting to a supervisor, you will be responsible for preparing steel surfaces by water jetting, abrasive blasting, and power tool methods, and protective coating application by spray (conventional and airless), roller, and brush.
Responsibilities
* Lead a crew of industrial painters
* Prepare steel surfaces using abrasive blasting and power tool cleaning
* Apply industrial protective coatings by various methods
* Ensure work meets specified quality requirements
* Maintain a safe working environment and minimise impact on the surrounding environment
* Manage workplace hazards, health and safety, quality, and efficiency
* Ensure equipment is well maintained, available, operational, and in safe working condition
* Meet deadlines and advise management of potential delays
* Build strong working relationships with stakeholders
You will have
* 5+ years of industrial blasting/painting experience
* A valid coatings inspector certification (CIP or Icorr)
* Experience in leading hand duties or ability to progress to this role
* Certification in Working at Height, and Elevated Work Platform (desirable)
* Ultra High Pressure (UHP) water jetting experience and qualifications (desirable)
* A positive, safety-first, team player mentality
