The Opportunity Our Customer Projects and Services team are currently seeking Service Delivery Manager for a permanent position to be based in our Melbourne VIC office.
As a Service Delivery Manager in Industrial Automation, you will ensure smooth, reliable, and customer-focused delivery of industrial automation services while also supporting commercial growth with solid business development capacity.
Reporting to the Services Manager in the Pacific Zone, the Service Delivery Manager’s expertise will be essential in providing technical support, troubleshooting issues, and delivering innovative solutions that enhance operational efficiency in the Pacific region.
In addition, this position is essential for maintaining high service delivery performance, including SLA management, planning, risk management, and effective stakeholder communication.
The role balances technical oversight, customer communication, operational discipline, and commercial influence to ensure both service continuity and business growth.
Key responsibilities
Technical Support:
Offer expert guidance and support for automation systems, addressing customer inquiries and resolving technical challenges promptly.
System Troubleshooting:
Diagnose and resolve issues related to control systems, PLCs, SCADA, MES, Software and other automation technologies.
Customer Engagement:
Build strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and ensuring their satisfaction with our services.
Project Implementation:
Assist in the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of automation equipment and systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
Customer-Centric Focus:
A strong emphasis on understanding customer needs and expectations, taking accountability for service delivery performance and driving future demand.
Continuous Improvement:
Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to the development of best practices within the team.
About you You will have a solid technical foundation in Industrial Automation, including experience with Schneider Electric or equivalent systems, platforms, and architectures such as PLCs, SCADA, telemetry, safety systems, and DCS.
Beyond technical expertise, you will bring strong commercial, business development, and sales capability, understanding customer value drivers and identifying service growth opportunities while being confident in proposal development, negotiation, and contributing to revenue targets.
Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Computer Science or Engineering Technology
Current (or eligible for) Membership of Engineers Australia or PM Institute
5+ years of experience in the delivery of Industrial Automation systems
2+ years of Project management (small – medium size projects) experience
2+ years of Commercial Awareness and understanding of
Process control fundamentals
SCADA, Telemetry, Safety Systems
Controllers (PLC, RTU, PC, DCS)
Networking, communications hardware
Project management software tools (MS Excel, MS Project, etc.)
Working knowledge of JIRA, SAP or similar
Proven ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholder groups and strong commercial acumen
A growth mindset through well-developed digital skills and a technical aptitude
Well-developed interpersonal skills coupled with the ability to customer centric approach
