Geospatial Analyst
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Geospatial Analyst to join our Mapping team, with a strong focus on airborne LiDAR and imagery processing. This role will suit someone currently working in a similar position who has hands‐on experience in LiDAR and aerial imagery workflows and quality control.
You will play a key role in processing and validating airborne data, supporting the delivery of accurate and high‐quality mapping outputs. While GIS capability remains important, the primary focus of this position is LiDAR and imagery processing rather than broader GIS analysis.
You will work closely with the LiDAR Manager, Mapping Manager and Client Managers to ensure deliverables meet technical standards and client expectations.
Key Responsibilities
* Process airborne LiDAR datasets and aerial imagery to project specifications
* Undertake quality control of aircraft trajectories and associated navigation data
* Process, classify and quality check calibrated LiDAR point clouds
* Generate and validate imagery‐derived and LiDAR‐derived products
* Support the production of GIS outputs where required
* Ensure timely and accurate delivery of project outputs
* Provide regular internal updates on progress and key deliverables
* Collaborate with internal teams to resolve technical and project‐related matters
About You
You will have practical, hands‐on experience in LiDAR and imagery processing environments and a strong understanding of data quality requirements.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
* Demonstrated experience processing airborne LiDAR and aerial imagery datasets
* Strong experience with LiDAR point cloud calibration, classification and QA
* Experience processing aircraft trajectories and associated data
* Solid understanding of spatial data principles and GIS workflows
* Ability to manage workloads and meet project deadlines
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to data quality
* Clear and professional communication skills
Desirable
* Experience using industry‐standard LiDAR and photogrammetry software
* Programming capability in Python or similar to support automation of workflows
* Relevant qualification in Geospatial Science, Surveying or a related discipline
