Position Information
Macquarie Park Public School is a new primary school currently under construction, located in Mahogany Avenue, Macquarie Park. The school has a capacity for 750 students and is expected to experience rapid enrolment growth in the first 5 years of operation. The school will officially open Day 1, 2027.
Due to the unique and complex nature of opening a new school, we are recruiting for 3 positions. The first position will start at the beginning of Term 3 and work with the principal to support the school’s successful opening. The other 2 positions will start at the beginning of Term 4 to continue this work.
Selection CriteriaIn addition to the general selection criteria, approval to teach infants and/or primary
* Proven capacity to work as part of the executive team and effectively balance the dual roles of exemplary classroom teacher with the complex responsibilities of the Assistant Principal role.
* Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as a dynamic member of the executive team to facilitate, implement and evaluate school initiatives within the strategic improvement plan.
* Highly developed skills in building collaborative partnerships with families, staff, and external agencies to ensure equitable access to learning and wellbeing support, while guiding inclusive teaching practices and leading consistent, school-wide processes that enhance student engagement, wellbeing, and learning outcomes.
* Proven instructional leadership and organisational capacity to support and develop staff, build a collaborative professional learning culture and drive continuous improvement aligned with the priorities of the NSW Department of Education
General Selection Criteria1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
