Overview
The Passenger Rollingstock and Signalling (PRS) Branch forms part of the department’s recently established Rail Division and plays an impactful role in delivering and managing rolling‑stock and signalling projects that are innovative, integrated and accessible to meet the growing demand for rail services in South East Queensland.
Role
In the role of Principal Advisor (Procurement), you will lead procurement strategies, manage stakeholders, develop the team, and drive productivity through industry best practices.
Responsibilities
* Actively manage individual and team performance and provide supportive leadership to develop a sustainable and capable procurement workforce across the Passenger, Rollingstock and Signalling (PRS) branch.
* Lead and manage research and analysis of data, identify risks and issues and develop and implement innovative procurement strategies and solutions to improve PRS service delivery.
* Actively manage, develop, consult and negotiate internal and external stakeholder relationships including internal clients, suppliers, industry, peer organisations and public sector bodies.
* Maintain an understanding and awareness of industry and supplier procurement best practices, innovation and market intelligence and trends to build and maintain relationships with all stakeholders and improve productivity.
* Ensure contract managers are effectively managing statewide contracts through successful application of contract management plans. Consult widely across all PRS management teams to ensure effective procurement of services and materials to allow the timely delivery of the PRS program of works.
Mandatory Qualifications And Conditions
* Due to this role having access to sensitive data, a criminal history check will be undertaken prior to appointment to the role.
Desirable Qualifications And Conditions
* Professional qualification or certification in procurement would be highly regarded.
* Experience in leadership positions would be highly regarded.
Requirements Of The Role
* Management of procurement team performance and workload across the PRS.
* Supervise and oversee the maintenance of relevant procurement databases and contract management for the PRS branch.
* Leadership and people management including the management of recruitment, performance, development, team communication, and ensuring a safe and diverse work environment.
* Experience in procurement operations and leading complex and strategic procurement activities and programs.
* Experience in pursuing continuous growth with taking personal accountability for learning, and eagerly pursues new knowledge and experiences.
* Demonstrates sound governance by evaluating possible solutions and take appropriate steps to mitigate risks.
