Overview

Youth Drug and Alcohol Clinician role at Illawarra Mercury. Permanent Part Time 24 hours per week. Salary: $37.03 - $57.10 per hour + 12% super and salary packaging. ISLHD: Illawarra Drug & Alcohol Service (iDAS). REQ602060. Applications close: 21 September 2025.

Join us in shaping healthier futures. Provide high quality care to clients and their families to ensure the provision of evidence-based interventions and optimal health outcomes in line with ISLHD policies, procedures, standards, relevant legislation, and the NSW Health Code of Conduct. This position provides services to the Drug and Alcohol Youth Counselling Service.


Responsibilities

* Conduct assessment, counselling and case management for young people with alcohol or other substance misuse issues, and for their family, carers or friends; support youth with substance-using parents as applicable.
* Deliver outreach to the local community and contribute to youth-focused health education programs.
* Collaborate with the Youth Team to provide high-quality, evidence-based care in accordance with ISLHD guidelines.


Qualifications and requirements

* Current AHPRA registration or Social Work degree and eligibility for the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
* Working With Children Check (WWCC).
* Current NSW Driver's Licence.
* Vaccination requirements for Category A role (as applicable).
