Are you looking for a fresh challenge within an exciting medical device development environment? One where you can make a major contribution to user-centred product designs? With at least 5 years' experience in the development of GUI/UX and ergonomics, you'll be a key member of the engineering team, working to define user interfaces on often complex medical products.

With a recent move to their new state of the art facility, this publicly listed ASX200 medical devices company develops, manufactures and commercialises a range of unique healthcare related solutions for an international client base. In exponential growth phase, they are committed to developing novel technologies in the healthcare space.
**The Role**
AS UI/UX & Human Factors Designer, you'll report to the Mechanical Engineering Manager and be part of the Research and Development function.
Your role will involve:
- Creating user-centred designs considering business requirements and user feedback
- Creating user flows, wireframes, digital prototypes and mock-ups, information architecture and digital assets
- Translating requirements into style guides, workflows, design systems, design patterns, colour pallets and intuitive user interfaces
- Designing UI elements such as input controls, navigational components and informational components
- Creating original graphic designs (e.g. images, sketches and tables)
- Identifying and troubleshooting UX problems (e.g. responsiveness)
- Collaborating effectively with product, engineering, software and management teams
- Incorporating customer feedback, usage metrics, and usability findings into designs in order to enhance user experience
- Developing and defining new product user interfaces & aesthetic
- Guiding input of human factors/usability considerations to new products
- Providing concept visualisation for new products/projects for internal stakeholders
- Defining future product concepts based on research
- Usability testing in accordance with regulatory requirements for medical products
**Skills and experience**
An original thinker, you'll have the ability to problem-solve and develop a clear design direction and vision. Using your highly advanced communication skills you will excel at delivering novel ideas clearly via sketches, graphs and software generated visual images. Able to carry out market research and anthropometric and ergonomic analysis to interpret and utilise results, you will use your full-cycle product development skills and experience to create user-centred designs. You will have experience in collaboration within a multi-disciplinary R&D environment and within design controls such as ISO 13485, ISO9001 and GMP.
- Ability to produce high-quality technical documents
- Microsoft Office Suite, CAD software (SolidWorks), Adobe Creative Suite, Keyshot and User interface prototype software - e.g. Axure RP/ Sketch/ Figma/ Adobe XD
- Degree/diploma in Design, Fine Arts, Engineering or related field
- Prior experience as a UI/UX Designer as well as a strong portfolio of related projects, ideally for hardware/ physical products and devices
- At least 5+ years' experience in development of GUI/UX & Ergonomics
- Experience in developing and maintaining relationships with external contractors and suppliers
- Ability to liaise with technical, marketing & operational teams to determine appropriate design solutions for customer facing activities & functionality
- Basic HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript skills a plus
