At Cotality, we are leaders in property data and real estate technology across Australia and New Zealand. We are seeking a Senior Technical Business Analyst to bridge the gap between complex stakeholder needs and high‐performance technical execution.
Contribute to the design of system architectures and maintain coherent documentation for all data processes, and become the technical Subject Matter Expert of the systems your team manages.
What You Will Be Doing
* Technical Implementation: Move beyond high‐level requirements to define the specific processes for data ingestion, transformation, and publication.
* Requirement Transformation & Storytelling: Translate business needs into detailed technical user stories that provide developers with a clear, actionable roadmap.
* Data Interrogation: Use advanced methodologies to independently query and understand data assets, ensuring they are fit‐for‐purpose and reconciled accurately.
* Documentation & Ownership: Design system architectures and maintain coherent documentation for all data processes, taking full ownership of the systems your team manages.
* Agile Collaboration: Work effectively within a scrum environment to deliver high‐quality solutions on time and within budget.
Job Qualifications
What You Will Bring
Essential
* Advanced SQL Mastery: This is your primary tool; you must be able to independently interrogate complex data assets and script with precision.
* Analytic Curiosity: A proactive drive to perform root‐cause analysis and troubleshoot technical issues within data pipelines.
* Clear Technical Communication: The ability to provide concise technical messaging and engage with both internal and external stakeholders effectively.
* Experience & Education: A minimum of 3 years of commercial experience in complex data environments, supported by tertiary qualifications in Information Science, Business, or equivalent industry experience.
Preferred
* Platform & Development Literacy: Direct experience with BigQuery (or similar large‐scale environments) and a strong understanding of codebases and end‐to‐end technical development.
* Domain Knowledge: Previous exposure to property and attributes data assets is highly desirable.
* Modern Tech Exposure: Familiarity with APIs, event‐based pipelines, and cloud concepts (specifically GCP and serverless architecture).
