We are building an organisation with a global outlook, forming international partnerships to strengthen Indigenous governance, cultural protection and land management. Our leadership and teams have engaged directly with Indigenous peoples and institutions overseas, including learning exchanges with the Sámi people in Norway, cultural and governance work in New Orleans, and emerging partnerships with world-leading archaeological and research teams in France, including those connected to the Lascaux cave systems. PKKP is preparing to participate in one of the largest archaeological and cultural heritage projects of its kind in the world, carried out in partnership with internationally recognised experts.

The role
Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will support financial and payroll operations, ensuring accurate records, timely processing, and compliance with accounting and payroll requirements.
This is a full-time role (37.5 hours per week) based in Perth, Western Australia.
You will:
* Perform general ledger reconciliations and bank processing
* Manage accounts receivable, including survey invoicing
* Complete BAS, PAYG, superannuation, and FBT compliance tasks
* Support payroll processing, including allowances and timesheets
* Process payroll journals and month-end schedules
* Maintain fixed assets, depreciation, and prepayments

What you'll bring
* Previous bookkeeping or accounting support experience (1–2 years) in a similar role
* Experience using accounting software (e.g., MYOB, Xero, QuickBooks, SAP, or similar financial systems).
* Customer Service or vendor communication experience highly regarded
* Sound understanding of accounting principles
* Experience using accounting and/or payroll systems and performing general ledger and payroll reconciliations
* Strong Excel skills and attention to detail
* Ability to manage confidential information
* A respectful, culturally aware approach and a genuine commitment to supporting Aboriginal communities.
Qualifications and Training:
* Certificate or Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or Bookkeeping
* Payroll training (desirable)
* National Police Check, and Working with Children Check (or ability to obtain)
