Fishery Queensland is looking for a motivated Fisheries Biologist to join their Fisheries Monitoring team and support the management of Queensland's wild fish stocks. Based in Brisbane, you'll play a key role in delivering state-wide biological monitoring programs that inform fisheries policy, stock assessments and long-term sustainability.
What you'll do
* Plan and coordinate biological sampling and assessment activities
* Work collaboratively with monitoring teams and Fisheries Queensland colleagues
* Help ensure efficient use of people, assets and budgets
* Provide high-quality technical advice to management and stock assessment teams
* Contribute to communication materials supporting biological monitoring
* Take ownership of professional tasks with initiative and accountability
* Apply departmental policies and directives in your work
What we're looking for
* A degree in science, applied science, or a related field
* Strong organisational, technical and collaboration skills
* The ability to deliver accurate, practical advice in a data-driven environment
* A commitment to equity, diversity, respect and inclusion
* A current open Class C driver's licence
