The ideal candidate will be someone with excellent communication skills, who is flexible and comfortable juggling multiple priorities. They'll ideally come from a similar role, or bring significant experience in the construction industry.
The role
Reporting to the Director, the Estimator plays a critical role for this highly acclaimed builder. Responsibilities will include areas such as –
* Prepare accurate project cost estimates, contract specifications and variations
* Complete commercial tenders
* Obtain and review quotes from sub‑contractors and suppliers for required products
* Monitor all costs during the construction phase ensuring budgets and schedules are met
* Preparation of reports and cost analysis
* Establish and maintain working relationships with suppliers and subcontractors
* Provide sales support to the Director and administrative team support
* Communicate with trade partners and team members regarding new and current projects
* Requesting subcontractor quotes and following up as necessary
The Ideal Candidate
Our Ideal candidate brings most or all of the below –
* Experience in estimating both commercial and residential projects, as well as commercial tendering process OR some estimating experience and significant experience in construction
* Ability to read architectural plans and develop cost estimates
* Strong understanding of residential (and also preferably commercial) construction processes and legislation
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office
* Ability to multi-task and meet strict deadlines
* Impeccable problem‑solving skills
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
