Quality Assurance and Governance Lead Pharmacist
Location: Flexible – National Role (SA, NSW, VIC preferred)
Schedule: Monday to Friday (Full-Time preferred, Part-Time considered)
About the Role
This is a rare national leadership opportunity for a pharmacist ready to expand their scope beyond site-based practice. As the Quality Assurance and Governance Lead, you will champion quality, safety, and governance across our HPS pharmacies, ensuring our systems and processes enable safe, compliant, and efficient pharmacy practice nationwide.
You'll lead the governance, safety, and compliance functions that underpin pharmacy practice, ensuring alignment with national standards and regulatory frameworks. This role is pivotal in providing professional project and operational leadership in managing medication related risks and driving continuous improvement in systems that support safe and effective medicine use.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide leadership in quality and safety by overseeing governance frameworks, policies, and compliance with national standards and regulatory requirement.
* Lead risk management through identification, assessment, and minimisation strategies to protect patients and reduce business risk.
* Drive medication safety initiatives, focusing on high-risk medicines and system improvements across the network.
* Facilitate quality assurance audits, including benchmarking and reporting of agreed KPIs.
* Monitor and analyse quality and safety performance data to inform continuous improvement initiatives.
* Develop and maintain a suite of standardised pharmacy policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure best practice.
* Deliver education and training on governance tools, policies, and medication safety to pharmacy teams.
* Contribute to project governance and support change management for new initiatives and service expansions.
About You
* Registered pharmacist with AHPRA.
* Experience in clinical governance, quality assurance, or regulatory compliance within pharmacy practice (hospital pharmacy experience highly regarded).
* Strong understanding of relevant legislation and professional standards.
* Excellent communication and influencing skills – able to engage stakeholders and drive change
* Capacity to travel within Australia as part of your role.
* Strategic mindset with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver results.
