Quick overview of the role
We are currently seeking a Drawline Production Lead to join the Mesh Production team in a full-time capacity.
This role is responsible for leading and coordinating the drawline shift activities, ensuring compliance with production schedules and specifications.
You will monitor product quality and perform regular line checks to ensure adherence to the Mass Per Meter Targets as well as monitor drawline Operator output vs targeted outputs and maintain accurate production records, shift reports and downtime logs.
This position is full-time permanent working Monday-Friday and is based at our Currumbin Head Office on the Gold Coast.
What will you be doing?
Enforce workplace safety policies and ensure all operators comply with WHS procedures and PPE requirements.
Lead and coordinate drawing line shift activities, ensuring compliance with production schedules and specifications.
Monitor product quality and perform regular line checks to ensure adherence to Mass Per Meter Targets.
Monitor drawline operators' output vs targeted outputs and maintain accurate production records, shift reports and downtime logs.
Provide training, mentoring, and guidance to drawline operators to build capability and ensure safe, efficient operations.
Coordinate with maintenance and engineering teams to report or resolve mechanical and process-related issues.
Assist in troubleshooting production problems, initiating corrective actions to minimize downtime.
Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying and suggesting process enhancements.
Communicate effectively with upstream and downstream departments to ensure material flow and quality continuity.
Participate in toolbox talks, shift handovers and daily production meetings.
What are we looking for in the successful candidate?
Minimum 3–5 years of experience in steel or metal manufacturing, preferably in wire drawing or mesh production.
Proven leadership or team coordination experience in a production environment.
Strong understanding of wire drawing processes, machinery, and safety standards.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, production plans, and specifications.
Sound mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
Forklift license (preferred).
Excellent communication and team leadership skills.
