About The Role
The role is with the Call Back Verification and PWM Tax Reporting team within Wealth Management Operations who are primarily responsible for overseeing and providing governance for operational and business processes, including regulatory requirements. The purpose of this role is to ensure a strong Risk and Control framework is managed within the Australian Operations team. Key objective is to embed a control culture and framework and ensure it is adhered to.
This position will interact with the broader APAC business, so language skills such as Chinese (Mandarin) will be used on a daily basis.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform independent Callback Verification with the authorized person(s) of the account to verify identity and validate asset transfers and changes to customer static data.
* Manage internal and external fraud risks related to asset transfers and changes to customer static data.
* Perform various control tasks related to PWM tax reporting to ensure accuracy and timely release of client annual tax reporting; these tasks mainly include:
o Resolve reconciliation mismatches between systems.
o Support client cost‐base data update with reporting platform.
o Support year‐end tax reporting process running and control checks.
o Work with key stakeholders across the business to improve system functions and reporting accuracy.
o Leverage automation and AI tools to drive process automation via reduction of manual work and improve process efficiency with an enhanced risk control framework.
o Escalate matters impacting client tax reporting outcome to managers timely.
* Act as additional coverage for various tasks within the team including PWM fee billing, trust and bank reconciliation, etc.
About The Candidate
* Fluency in Chinese (Mandarin).
* Desirable tertiary qualification in Finance or related fields.
* 2–3 years' financial markets experience is an advantage.
* Understanding of regulatory rules and how they apply to the business.
* Ability to develop strong relationships with various teams across the firm and excellent communication skills to achieve desired results.
* Banking and financial services experience with knowledge in the following areas would be a plus:
o Australian equities, covering end‐to‐end deal life‐cycle processing.
o Corporate Actions, Settlement and Clearing exposure.
o ASIC and ASX Settlement Rules.
o Portfolio Administration.
o Reconciliation of client's transactions and cost‐base data.
o Sound understanding of CGT implications & CGT rules.
o Ability to prioritise, handle workflows and have fine attention to details.
