About the Role

Join the Emergency Department team in Taree, contributing to safer, more supported patient care while enjoying the riverside charm and natural beauty of the Barrington Coast. As part of the Safe Staffing Levels rollout, you’ll benefit from improved nurse-to-patient ratios and the backing of a committed, experienced nursing team. This is an ideal opportunity for Enrolled Nurses with acute care experience who thrive in dynamic, fast-paced settings and value growth, safety, and teamwork.

What Does Safe Staffing Mean for You?

The NSW Government is introducing minimum nurse-to-patient ratios across Emergency Departments to support both nurses and patients. For Enrolled Nurses, this means:

- Safer, more manageable workloads in clinical areas
- Increased support from senior staff, including Clinical Nurse Specialists, Nurse Educators, and Registered Nurses
- Better conditions that allow you to provide high-quality, focused care
- A team culture that prioritises wellbeing, safety, and professional development

Where You’ll Be Working

Taree is a riverside town in the heart of the Manning Valley, where coastline meets countryside. Locals enjoy surf, rivers, rainforest, and an affordable lifestyle.

Why You’ll Love Working and Living in Taree

- 30 minutes to the coast – Old Bar, Crowdy Head, or Diamond Beach
- Barrington Tops National Park – alpine forests, hiking trails, waterfalls
- Lower cost of living – more space, less pressure, great for families
- Close to regional centres – 1 hour to Port Macquarie, 2 hours to Newcastle

Whether you’re after a sea change, a tree change, or both, you’ll find it here.

Why People Choose This Region

- Affordable coastal living – space, greenery, and ocean breezes
- Tight-knit community – farmers markets, local events, friendly faces
- Family-friendly – great schools, safe neighbourhoods
- The best of both worlds – surf in the morning, hike in the afternoon
