**The Role**
This newly established role within our team will be varied and include, Information and Records management, Outlook scheduling, Event coordination and provide administrative oversight of key deliverables and activities. You will also be required to prepare inwards and outwards correspondence on behalf of the Unit and it would be advantageous if you had an understanding of the ADF Writing Manual or demonstrated report and procedural writing experience. You will work collaboratively within the Business Management team, supporting the management and dissemination of information, including liaising with internal and external stakeholders.
Duties will require a high level of autonomy as well as attention to detail and the ability to analyse, research and carry out a task to a high standard under general direction.
An outline of your duties may include, but is not limited to:
- Responsible for the management of information and knowledge within the unit throughout the information lifecycle.
- Identify and coordinate the review and analysis of business processes, work instructions and procedures.
- Manage inwards and outwards correspondence, calendar appointments and tasks via our Group Mailbox.
- Provide a backup function to the APS5 Admin and Corporate Support Team Leader through supporting the management of SharePoint and Objective platforms as required.
- Assist in the organisation and execution of events within the unit which may include preparing and disseminating written correspondence.
- Undertake research and analysis, conduct reviews and perform procedural, clerical, administrative or operational support work to achieve results.
- Conduct compliance monitoring and reporting activities for systems and practices.
**About our Team**
The APS 4 Knowledge Management Officer is a pivotal role within the Business Management Branch of the Joint Logistics Unit South Queensland (JLU(SQ)), located at RAAF Base Amberley.
Our small but emerging team of specialists is responsible for managing and supporting the information and knowledge management systems on behalf of Commanding Officer JLU(SQ).
Working collaboratively as part of the Information and Knowledge management team we oversee a range of JLU interests including records management and administrative functions and processes.
This exciting new role is an essential missing piece to our team and we're looking for an experienced knowledge management and administrative specialist who is driven and can hit the ground running with enthusiasm and initiative.
- Proven ability to engage and negotiate with people and develop and maintain effective working relationships:
- Have a demonstrated understanding and background in Records Management including file and repository management;
- Proven track record of successfully capturing, analysing, managing, retrieving and disseminating information effectively using appropriate information systems;
- High level of attention to detail, with a focus on accuracy and logical coherence in written and verbal communication, including experience in technical writing and documentation;
- Manage the priorities and needs of stakeholders to meet and exceed their expectations;
- Ability to manage and organise your own time and set work priorities in order to meet deadlines;
- A strong commitment to continuous improvement.
