We are a leading, Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA)-licensed testing laboratory based in Victoria, specialising in pharmaceutical, medical device, cosmetic and consumer health product microbiological testing.
Our facility operates under TGA license accreditation and upholds the highest standards of quality, compliance, and integrity.Position OverviewWe're seeking an experienced Microbiologist to join our dynamic Quality Control team.
In this role, you will perform routine microbiological testing, contribute to development and validation, and ensure all work complies with TGA regulations, GLP and GMP principles.Key ResponsibilitiesConduct microbiological testing of raw materials and finished products, including sterility and growth promotion assaysPerform environmental monitoring of equipment, process water and manufacturing environmentsAssist with operation, calibration, and maintenance of microbiology laboratory equipmentSupport validation of microbiology procedures, environmental monitoring, and cleaning processesObserve and monitor laboratory and plant procedures, identifying areas for improvementMaintain accurate testing records, prepare technical reports, and support batch release activitiesAssist in training and supervising Junior Analysts as requiredCollaborate closely with Production, QA, QC, R&D;, and Engineering departmentsParticipate in internal and external audits when requiredRequirementsAbout YouBachelor's or Master's degree in Microbiology or related life sciencesMinimum of 3 years' hands-on experience in a regulated pharmaceutical or food microbiology laboratory (mandatory)Solid knowledge of GMP, regulatory pharmacopoeia (USP/BP), and lab safety standardsProficiency in aseptic techniques and cleanroom practicesA collaborative team player who is organised, proactive, and self-motivatedExcellent documentation skills with strong attention to detailProven ability to quickly learn new processes and work independently while meeting tight deadlinesExcellent verbal and written communication skillsEligible to work in Australia or New Zealand (Australian citizen or permanent resident), or a valid working visaBenefitsCompetitive salary in line with industry benchmarksOpportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of regulated productsSupportive team culture that values continuous improvement and innovationModern laboratory facilities near public transport and on site parking
