THE ROLE:

We have an exciting opportunity based in Adelaide working in the FIVEAA News room for a Afternoon and Evening Newsreader position as well as working one morning weekend shift a week. The Newsreader will work independently in the Newsroom through the shifts, liaising closely with closely with the FIVEAA News Chief of Staff, as well as the Station Manager, Content Producers and Presenters to ensure on air news content is current, accurate and consistent.

This role is responsible for interviewing, researching, writing, editing and presenting on air news bulletins that are current, accurate and consistent with brand style and compliant with all broadcast codes of conduct, on tight deadlines

What you will be doing and what skills you may have:

We are looking for a qualified journalist with strong technical skills in writing, editing and presenting talk radio news bulletins and news headlines each hour of the shift.

You will have a strong interest in news and current affairs and your news reading style will suit the FIVEAA brand.

To be successful in this role you will have:

* Qualification in relevant field
* The ability to work in a fast-paced environment – writing and presenting live local news, sport and weather twice an hour.
* Knowledge of local, national, and international news stories affecting the community.
* Accuracy and excellent attention to detail.
* Effective time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
* The ability to communicate effectively both orally and written.
* Highly proficient in NewsBoss and Zetta
