Full-time fixed‐term position for up to 6 months. Base salary: $104,616 – $113,920 + 17% super.
About This Opportunity
The University of Queensland is seeking a UX Designer to support business‐as‐usual activities within the Marketing and Communication team. This fixed‐term backfill supports continuity while the current designer is seconded to an internal project, ensuring user‐centred design remains embedded in day‐to‐day delivery. Working closely with digital specialists and stakeholders, you will improve usability, accessibility, and consistency across UQ's digital platforms.
Key Responsibilities
* Design user journeys, flows, wireframes, and prototypes for digital initiatives.
* Support or conduct user research and usability testing.
* Collaborate with UI designers, content designers, and developers.
* Translate business needs into clear, user‐focused design solutions.
* Apply UX best practice across business‐as‐usual digital work.

About You
You are a practical and confident UX designer who thrives in a delivery‐focused environment. You will bring:
* Demonstrated UX design experience with a portfolio showing end‐to‐end work.
* Experience collaborating with stakeholders and digital teams.
* Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
* Proficiency in tools such as Figma, Miro, User Testing, or similar.
* Experience in UI design is desirable but not essential.
