Embach Vessel Management, is seeking a Marine Engineer for an immediate start to join our team on a contract basis from Broome, Western Australia. As a Marine Engineering Watchkeeper, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our Infield Support Vessel (ISV) supporting Shell Prelude FLNG on a 28 Days On / 28 Days Off roster.
What you'll be doing
Overseeing the maintenance and repair of onboard machinery, equipment and systems to ensure optimal performance and compliance with safety standards
Troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues in a timely manner to minimise downtime and maintain vessel operations
Conducting regular inspections and tests to identify potential problems and implement preventive maintenance measures
Collaborating with the vessel's crew to coordinate and execute engineering-related tasks
Maintaining detailed records and documentation of all engineering activities and vessel operations
Providing technical support and guidance to other crew members as needed
Adhering to all relevant regulations, policies and safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment
What we're looking for
Proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues related to vessel machinery and systems
Strong understanding of maritime regulations, safety protocols and best practices
Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking and decision-making skills
Effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with the vessel's crew
AMSA Engineer Watchkeeper Certificate of Competency or higher required.
Valid AMSA medical and offshore survival training (BOSIET/FOET) Preferred
Experience on offshore support vessels or similar marine operations preferred.
Strong knowledge of engine room systems, safety protocols, and emergency procedures.
Ability to work in remote offshore environments on a rotational roster.
