About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Die Setter / Production Leading Hand — Plastics to join our Operations team. Reporting to the Production Leading Hand — Plastics, this is an onsite role based at our Chirnside Park facility.
This position plays a key role in leading and coordinating production teams across multiple work cells, ensuring safe, efficient and high‐quality manufacturing outcomes.
What You'll Do
Lead safely every day: Provide visible safety leadership and actively drive a strong safety culture across production areas
Deliver operational results: Coordinate labour, schedules and resources to achieve KPIs
Support die setting operations: Perform die setting and changeovers as required to maintain production flow and equipment performance
Drive continuous improvement: Initiate and lead improvement activities focused on waste reduction, productivity, 5S and ITW Toolbox principles
Ensure product availability and quality: Manage inventory and stock controls to meet customer demand and quality standards
Develop people: Train, coach and support team members; maintain skills matrices and standard operating procedures
Maintain inventory accuracy: Complete cycle counts, BOM audits and system transactions to improve process
What You'll Bring
* Proven experience in manufacturing or operations leadership, ideally within plastics or high‐volume manufacturing
* Hands‐on die setting experience and strong mechanical aptitude
* A demonstrated commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement
* Strong communication and problem‐solving skills with the ability to lead teams effectively
* Forklift licence is essential
* Confidence working across shifts and supporting production leadership as required
