A well-regarded Australian asset manager is seeking a Senior Financial Accountant to join its Melbourne finance team. The role sits at the centre of a growing real estate platform, offering genuine breadth across fund accounting, financial control and commercial business partnering across a portfolio of managed investment structures. The role
* Ownership of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting across asset and fund structures, including management accounts and board reporting packs with variance analysis and commentary
* Coordinating the year-end audit process and managing statutory compliance obligations across fund and trust structures in line with Australian Accounting Standards and Corporations Act requirements
* Overseeing fund accounting activities including unit pricing, distributions, management fee calculations and expense allocations
* Reviewing outputs from fund administrators and ensuring accuracy and completeness across all fund operations
* Handling ongoing tax compliance across the group, BAS, IAS and investor tax reporting, and managing ATO interactions and lodgement timelines
* Supporting treasury functions including cash flow forecasting, debt management and covenant compliance
* Acting as a key commercial partner to Asset Management and Investment teams on acquisitions, leasing, capital expenditure and asset performance
* Directly mentoring and developing junior finance team members
About you
* CA or CPA qualification
* Fund accounting experience within an Australian asset management or property funds environment, including a working knowledge of managed investment structures
* Strong technical accounting background with solid understanding of Australian tax for both direct and indirect taxes
* Experience managing audits, external administrators, custodians and other third-party providers
* Strong interpersonal skills and the maturity to engage confidently with senior stakeholders
* Comfort operating in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced environment where priorities shift
