The Role
Looking for a hands‐on role where your skills truly matter? We're on the lookout for a proactive and reliable Maintenance Officer to join our team 3 days a week at our residential aged care facility in Campbell.
As our Maintenance Officer, you'll take ownership of the facility's upkeep, ensuring everything operates efficiently and safely. You'll be the go‐to person for identifying issues, coordinating repairs, and keeping our environment at the highest standard.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct regular inspections of the facility to identify and address maintenance needs, including plumbing, electrical, and general building upkeep.
* Perform or coordinate repairs and routine maintenance tasks to ensure all equipment and systems function efficiently and safely.
* Develop and implement a preventive maintenance schedule to minimize breakdowns and extend the life of facility systems and equipment.
* Conduct regular checks and maintenance on critical systems, including fire alarms, emergency lighting, and safety equipment.
* Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations, including infection control protocols specific to aged care.
* Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for specialised repairs and maintenance services.
* Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, including work orders, repair logs, and service reports.
Requirements
* Previous experience in a similar role
* Experience and understanding of Computerised Maintenance Management Software (CMMS) or Computer Aided Facilities Management (CAFM) (Desirable)
* Property Management / Construction experience
* Understanding of the BCA (Building Code of Australia), NCC (National Construction Code) and Australian Standards.
* Current driver's licence
* Ability to use portable devices, including but not limited to phone, tablets and laptops at an intermediate level
* Sensitivity to the needs of the elderly in a residential care setting
