About the Role:

We're seeking an experienced Vocational Support Worker to join our team. This is a hands-on, outdoor role ideal for someone with strong grounds maintenance experience and a genuine passion for supporting people with disabilities to build skills and succeed in the workplace.

Duties:
* Lead and work alongside a small mowing crew across residential and commercial properties
* Operate commercial mowing equipment including ride-on mowers, whipper snippers, hedgers and blowers
* Ensure jobs are completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard
* Support, train and mentor crew members in developing their skills
* Maintain equipment and ensure all work areas are clean, safe, and professional
* Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail
* Good communication and problem-solving skills
* Positive, patient, and supportive leadership style
* Ensure safe operation of mowing and gardening equipment
* Plan and complete scheduled mowing and grounds maintenance jobs
* Complete daily client progress notes and incident reports
* Carry out other duties as directed
Skills and Experience:
Essential:
* Proven experience in lawn mowing, landscaping, or grounds maintenance
* Previous experience in the disability sector or a related field
* Practical experience or knowledge of Work crew operations and yard maintenance
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Good time management, organisational, and problem-solving skills
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Basic to intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
Desirable:
* Experience supporting people with disabilities in a vocational or supported employment setting
* Experience supervising staff or work crews
* Knowledge of workplace health and safety practices
* Small engine mechanical knowledge
