About the Role
The role of WHS Business Partner is a key position within our organization, responsible for contributing to the development and implementation of our Safety Management Strategy.
You will work closely with operational leaders across multiple sites to champion the importance of workplace health and safety.
Key responsibilities include actively working with business leaders to build their knowledge and understanding of their accountabilities and system requirements.
Additionally, you will be responsible for monitoring and reporting on WHS performance, identifying opportunities to improve through risk reduction strategies.
Your duties will also include providing functional support and guidance to managers and the leadership team on safety performance, developments, and procedural and legislative requirements.
Furthermore, you will manage significant incident investigation, reporting, and preventative action process.
You will work with the Return to Work Partner to oversee claims management advice to managers and facilitate the timely, safe, and durable return to work of injured employees.
This role requires strong influencing and communication skills, both verbal and written, as well as logical, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
We are seeking a candidate with in-depth knowledge of Australian workplace health and safety management systems and standards, as well as Workers Compensation principles and practices.
Responsibilities:
* Champion the Questas Home Safely Everyday philosophy.
* Actively working with business leaders to build their knowledge and understanding of their accountabilities and system requirements.
* Monitor and report on WHS performance, proactively identifying opportunities to improve through risk reduction strategies.
* Provide functional support and guidance to managers and the leadership team on safety performance, developments, and procedural and legislative requirements.
* Manage significant incident investigation, reporting, and preventative action process.
* Working with the nominated Return to Work Partner, oversee claims management advice to manager and facilitate the timely, safe and durable return to work of injured employees.
* Actively support the business by ensuring that critical risks are identified, managed and appropriate risk management tools are utilised across the business.
Requirements:
* Degree or Diploma qualifications in Workplace Health, Safety or equivalent.
* Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (desirable).
* Incident Causation Analysis Model (ICAM) Training (desirable).
* Relevant industry experience within a national or multi-site setting.
* Experience with working with multiple stakeholders and reporting lines.
* Strong logical, analytical and problem-solving abilities.
* In-depth and practical working knowledge of Australian workplace health and safety management systems and standards as well as Workers Compensation principles and practices.
