Job Summary:
The Elementary Librarian plays a pivotal role in empowering students to become critical thinkers, enthusiastic readers, and skillful researchers. This position is responsible for designing and implementing units of instruction that align with the school's curriculum, fostering a love of reading and lifelong learning.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develops and implements engaging lesson plans that promote literacy skills, digital citizenship, and information-seeking literacy.
* Collaborates with classroom teachers to create integrated curriculum and technology-rich literacy experiences.
* Provides guidance on the effective use of print and non-print resources, research techniques, and instructional technology.
* Maintains a welcoming environment that fosters creativity, innovation, and collaboration among students and faculty.
* Communicates effectively with principal, teachers, and staff to address campus needs and offer support as needed.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field.
* Valid Texas school librarian certification or endorsement.
* Two years of classroom teaching experience preferred.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
