We have a new requirement for a Logistics Coordinator, for this well-known mining organisation. This is a long-term career opportunity. The scope of work is initially for 3 years but is likely to be ongoing, meaning you can make this a real career move.
This is a FIFO role to Port Hedland on an 8:6 roster and is offering exceptional hourly rates.
This team is responsible for executing large-scale capital and operation expenditure track works including track renewal/reconstruction (plain line, turnouts, cross overs), re-rail & stress management and rail civil works. You will oversee 3 direct reports (contractors) in your role.
You'll add value by:
- Managing the safe execution of Track Renewals maintenance work. 
- Developing logistics strategies to improve safety and efficiency, and to reduce cost. 
- Developing and sustain a strong safety and collaborative culture in the track renewals team. 
- Supporting the track renewals team to ensure equipment is available as required
Some of your responsibilities will include:
- Developing and implementing logistics plans and strategies 
- Management of equipment and materials to best meet the operational plans 
- Manage a team of truck drivers to ensure equipment and materials are safely delivered on time 
- Manage logistics teams work progress and contractor resource capability and capacity 
- Manage the shutdown logistics process to ensure all requirements for equipment, materials and consumables are met 
- Other similar logistics focused duties
In terms of your background, you'll ideally have:
- Demonstrated experience in leading workgroups and contractors to complete logistics work 
- Experience with rail equipment and materials is desirable 
- Risk management in logistics and transport works 
- Experience with logistics and planning systems and how to develop and embed new processes 
- Development of laydown strategies 
- Development of transport team to complete planned and unplanned delivery works
