About the role
The Accounts Officer is responsible for payment of the business’s accounts and payroll, taxes and superannuation and ensuring that all accounting tasks are performed in an accurate, professional, and timely manner.
Key Duties include:
* Reconciliation of monthly, quarterly and yearly accounts
* Maintain and process accounts payable, receivable and payroll,
* Management of credit card,
* Preparation of superannuation payments and reports
* Maintain an orderly financial accounting system,
* Payroll for a team of 30+,
* Assist the Administration Manager to prepare monthly financial reports, and supervise junior staff members
* Provide administrative and reception support as and when required.
Skills and experience:
* Sound knowledge of how an accounting section functions in a small business
* Must have extensive experience using MYOB including payroll;
* Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to successfully communicate and liaise with people at all levels, both internally and externally;
* Strong organisational skills and ability to meet deadlines;
* Sound computer literacy skills - word, excel, outlook, MYOB;
* Strong numeracy skills;
* Good analytical skills with an ability to identify and solve problems;
* Sound attention to detail and a high level of accuracy;
* Absolute discretion when dealing with confidential information.
